You are an entrepreneur or an employee? How much are your old
Business or IT Management skills costing you today?
| Once you get lulled into the “business as usual” mode
of operation eventually your business will naturally stop
growing. The business press is littered with sad story’s about
company’s that failed to keep up with their customers changing
requirements.
As an entrepreneur or an employee, are
your old skills of business management or IT management about
to be expired? Both those worlds changed, and a lot! Now is the time to be a Next-Generation
entrepreneur or employee: tech savvy, open-minded,
multitasking!
|
In this time of economic turmoil
the cry gets louder and louder, for entrepreneurs
and employees: "what do we do now"?
Well the answer lies in what you
should have been doing all along - learning and
planning! Rather than sitting around becoming more and
more complacent, you should have been contemplating and
planning for the inevitable. Even in this period of
daily tales of woe some company's are prospering and
even beating their forecasts. Think about developing the
answers to Bob Donnelly's fundamental questions: where
are we now? where do we want to be? and, how are we
going to get there?
Some firms even have "contingency
plans" - imagine that. Nothing goes up forever. Business
or IT managements are about learning and change. Faster,
better, cheaper is the driving force of any entrepreneur
or any
employee. | |

obligatorily of long duration!
FastTrack is a MBA with a duration of four and
half months, or alternatively in one year.
FastTrack is the same curriculum of our
one year MBA duration course, or other Universities one or two
duration MBA courses. In reality we are better, nor 2% of the MBA
schools in the World teach our Next-Generation MBA curriculums! A
recent report from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of
Business, lambasted its members for maintaining a curriculum that is
out of touch with modern business practices, because they
teach a 48 years old MBA curriculum!

Brief Facts on
MBA of Project Management PM
S. Maurer
Projects are typically constrained by limitëd resources.
The focused Project Management principle: No one has to play detective to discover the goals nor play lawyer to defend them.
Other types of engineering organizations—government agencies, utilities, manufacturing—are using projects more and more as a way to tackle problems, make improvements, or bring new products and services to market more quickly and efficiently.
Though IT¹ might seem natural, in a Project Management implementation, to put the Web master or the intranet Director/Manager in charge, they often have little authority.
In high tech, for example, or biotech or pharmaceuticals, project managers are responsible for launching new products, developing new technologies, and managing alliance programs with strategic partners.
In essence a Project Management can be captured on paper with a few easy elements: a start date, an end date, the tasks that have to be carried out and when they should be finished, and some idea of the resources [people, machines etc] that will be needed during the course of the Project Management.
Project teams come together as strangers.
Whether you realize IT¹ or not, everyone manages a project at some point.
A Project Management managed by a team of people who don’t get along will probably face many more challenges and have great difficulty overcoming obstacles than the project with a team that works well together and blends in a little fun.
According to James P Lewis, author of several books on Project Management, these enterprises “have the competitive advantage over those who fly by the seat of the pants.”
The key elements of a good Project Management consist of: 1 -
Determine how many resources will be applied to each activity. In general, the more resources you can apply to activities, the quicker they can be completed. Obviously two resources may be able to complete an activity faster than one person [but IT¹ may not be twice as fast].
Planning starts with the promises you make; once you get clear about what you will accomplish, then what you do becomes clear.
We think we see what we see, but we don’t; we really see what we think; remember the blind men and the elephant.
Have planning conversations and engage your team — the project performers — in those conversations.

Project Management
closing.
Our Online Project
Management PM training course provides an examination of Project Management PM
concepts and strategies. It discusses the components of a management system and
the five phases of the project life cycle, and looks at factors that affect cost
and quality. The project manager's role is explored, and strategies for defining
the project are examined. The close-out phase of a project is also covered.
Other topics include formalizing Project Management PM standards, developing a
project team, and strategies for becoming a more effective project
manager.
Project Management
PM have traditionally been the basic unit of work for many engineering
organizations - consulting, design, and construction firms. Other types of
engineering organizations - government agencies, utilities, manufacturing - are
using projects more and more as a way to tackle problems, make improvements, or
bring new products and services to market more quickly and
efficiently.
Projects generally
involve working in teams with colleagues from disciplines, departments, and even
other companies. Most teams find that the technical portion of the projects are
easy. It is the coordination - the project management - that is
difficult:
- getting people
to communicate with one each other,
- making sure that
individual are on schedule with their own tasks to avoid delaying teammates
who depend on their output,
- getting
decisions quickly from the client and management,
- keeping the
client and management informed.
The key to a
successful project management is in the planning: being clear on the objectives,
deciding how to work together as a team, thinking through how to approach the
scope, setting up a schedule and budget, understanding clearly what will make
the deliverable acceptable to the client of the project. The easiest way to plan
a project is to have those who will execute the work help with the planning.
This has the added benefit that the team is ready to hit the ground running
during execution.
We strongly
recommend that your project management team learns all those Project Management
PM principles, to work together. | | |
